Outreach Minnesota is an initiative of the Get Ready program, an early intervention and college awareness program. Your students will learn about setting goals for higher levels of achievement. They will also gain a greater understanding of career opportunities, reasons to attend college, ways to pay for college and higher education opportunities. Through this outreach effort, you will have access to the tools that will help you show students a path to a bright future.

How and When to Use Outreach Materials
Because it may be difficult to find time during class to engage students in this early college-awareness curriculum, some participants use the curriculum at other times:
- During the after-school program
- As a component of community programs
- During advisory/homeroom
- During breakfast or lunch club
- During summer school
What Participants Receive
Educators receive a comprehensive curriculum, which includes all the necessary student workbooks to implement the program:
- What Will I Be: Teaches students about goal setting and self-esteem, and ties skills and interests to possible career choices.
- Great College Mystery: Helps students explore college types and careers and introduces them to high school and financial aid concepts
- Financing Your Future: Guides students through basic financial concepts and helps them understand how to save and pay for college.
- Future Choices: Helps students explore interests and talents, relate those to possible careers options and discover how their work in high school relates to achieving their college dreams.
Participants also receive various supplemental resources such as teaching guides and may be eligible to receive:
- College campus visit opportunities
- Parent guides
- Professional development opportunities for teachers
- Theater and music performances with an early college awareness theme
- Presentations for students and parents on topics related to college planning
